A development article is one in which a test was initially constructed or an existing test was revised, adapted, or modified to such an extent that a new version was created.

The Development Record generally includes all of the searchable fields and filters, including index terms; the actual test (most are PDF, but there are tests in other media), when available; and a link to the PsycINFO or PsycEXTRA record for the development document. In addition, it includes other fields, such as Alternate Test Name(s), Reliability, Validity, and Factor Analysis, as well as author affiliation and correspondence information.

When a test is commercially available, a URL will be provided in the Web Site field of the record.
